As an award-winning experimental sound artist, percussionist, producer, engineer, and sound equality advocate, my journey in the world of sonic exploration has spanned over two decades. My live performances, lasting 1 to 3 immersive hours, unfold as captivating experiences, featuring a fusion of synthesizers, tape music, percussion and ocarinas.
Collaborating with elyse portal, through our collective ee portal, our live shows become multidimensional experiences, blending my sonic improvisations with ee portal's mesmerizing video art. Together, we create a synesthetic environment that transports the audience to uncharted realms, a testament to the limitless possibilities within experimental sound art.
In a sonic revolt against the hook, and any other abusive methodologies or schemes, I have adopted the perspective that sound isn’t just some thing that can be manipulated, but rather, sound is an entity itself. I am in a constant co-composition with sound. Every time I turn a synthesizer on, I listen to every frequency, every rhythm that is manifested without judgement
Being equanimous about sound

a decolonial practice.
Many times I use the analogy of walking in the forest to talk about my work. You can go hiking on the same trail every day for a year, but that walk will never be the same. The weather, the trees, the animals, the way you feel that day, the actual steps and where your foot touches the Earth - it is all so variegated and fleeting.
This analogy exemplifies the type of vulnerability and improvisation that I participate in with sound, light and matter.
