bending

ashbending1

I find myself mesmerized and inspired by the capacity of Fraxinus americana (White Ash) to bend freely, when given the chance. This tight 11" diameter curve required a little flame convincing, but easily got there once heated. There are 2 strips of 1/8" x 1.75" glued together in this positive-negative mold. The mold was indispensable in facilitating the bend.

Let's see what other bending trouble I can get into!
